I have a Storyline 360 file with many different quizzes (some long, some short). I added a result slide after each quiz, hoping to give each quiz a unique time limit, but they still have the same time limit.
Is it possible to have multiple timers in the same project?
Hi Lewis! Great question, and I'm so glad that Wendy mocked up that example for you.
I just wanted to touch on a couple of details that could throw your timer off. On each of your results slides, be sure to include the relevant questions. Also, be sure that your timer starts with the first question, as opposed to the first slide. Using the "first slide" option on your result slides will create one timer to be launched with the entire course.
If you are seeing any strange behavior in your course, we're happy to have a closer look. You can attach it right here! Hope that helps. :)
Thanks for getting back to me. On my results slides, I selected 'draw from question bank x' rather than selecting individual questions like in your example:
Which seems to be the only difference. Could that explain why each quiz has the same time limit?
Just to update...we have identified an issue where the quiz timer is synchronized on all Question Bank slides, even if each question bank draw has its own timer settings.
In your project file, Wendy, I changed the results slide on the fourth scene to have the timer start "with first question" to match the others, and then I was able to have Scenes 1 and 2 play out correctly with their independent timers. Scenes 3 and 4, however, defaulted to the quiz timer for Scene 4's result slide, which was 2 minutes.
Thank you again for working through this. Lewis, the only workaround I can offer at this time is to insert regular quiz slides instead of question banks. Seeing your screenshot, I realize that probably isn't viable for you.
We'll work on this with our team and keep you all posted on any developments.
Thanks for your help with this. I used the workaround you suggested and copied and pasted the questions from their question banks directly into the scenes. This allowed me to give each quiz a unique time limit.
Were you able to get this issue fixed? I have 5 different quizzes in the same module with different question banks and the timer isn't consistent throughout every quiz.
I am sorry that you are experiencing the quiz timer inconsistency in your course. Our team is continuing to look into this and I will be adding your comments to our report. We will be sure to keep you posted on any developments!
In the meantime, the workaround mentioned previously about inserting regular quiz slides instead of question banks might help.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Hi Lewis
see attached sample. I have two quizzes set up in separate scenes. Quiz 1 has a timer of 1 minute and Quiz 2 has a timer of 5 minutes.

Hi Lewis
you are correct. I added two questions banks and result slides both with different timer durations (2) and (6) and both QBs pull the 2 minute timer.
See attached - you can send this file to support if you want to log a bug report.
Hi Lewis and Wendy! Thanks for hashing out those details. My team and I will have a closer look at this behavior.
Thanks for the screenshots and the example file, too. I'm so glad that you pointed it out.

Thanks for following up Crystal ;-)
Hi Wendy & Crystal,
Thanks for your help with this. I used the workaround you suggested and copied and pasted the questions from their question banks directly into the scenes. This allowed me to give each quiz a unique time limit.
I'm glad that worked out for you, Lewis! Thanks for the update.

Hi everyone!
Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where the:
Quiz timer is synchronized on all multiple Result Slides that are configured with different timer settings.
Be sure to install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes.
