Multiple screen support

Oct 13, 2016

Hi all,

I have a number of users who use multiple monitors, one for the software application and one for scripting etc. They would like the elearning to support/reflect this setup.

so my question is: Is it possible to build a module that works across dual screens? so that when they launch the elearning one part is on one screen and the second part is displayed on the other screen?

I am working on something that would have both elements on the one screen but it does look a little squished!

Cheers

Hi Eric

are you talking about undocking the trigger, timeline, slide panels? sothat SL is just showing you the edit screen?

See if this tutorial helps you - specifically the topic Undocking and Redocking Panels

Something that had never crossed my mind but it would be cool.

It would be possible to achieve by using a web object or web page  opening in a different window and adjusting a variable that would adjust what was shown in the web object/page.

The user would likely have to move it onto their second screen, wish i had time today to play with this one, writing a note to myself to build it when i have some downtime.

Hi Eric,

I'd agree with Phil's thought to have it be in a web object for the second screen - that could still be a Storyline course and you'd have to publish that one first and place it inside the main course as a web object. Definitely keep us posted on what you come up with - as it would be a curious set up to see in action!
