Multiple Tests within an e-learning package

Jan 22, 2016

Hello, I am looking at creating an e-learning package for our Moving and Handling department.  They would like to target 4 different clinical areas and would require a different test for each one to ensure the learning objectives have been met.  Can I create 4 different menus with a test for each one within one e-learning package?

Hi Julie!

You can certainly set up branching for different things, but you may run into an issue when it comes to tracking results as you can only specify one results slide to report to the LMS.

Some users still choose to set this up, but if you have 4 sets of distinct materials and test, then it would be easier to set it up as 4 courses.

Articulate Storyline lets you track a course either by the number of slides viewed or by a single quiz (result slide). Tracking both measurements for the same course isn't supported. Similarly, tracking multiple quiz scores in the same course isn't supported. However, you may be able to track more than one SCO (shareable content object) in a single course using one of the unsupported methods in this article.

Hi Phil and Leslie

i have a similar issue -

we have built an E-learning with 4 different tests, one test being randomly selected for each learner.

the question is what do i do with tracking the results for the LMS?
i can only choose one result slide for tracking while i have 4 ...
will the LMS automaticly track the right slide? (no way right???)
so-

1. Phil can you speciify about you solution?

2. Leslie is there a built-in solution (btw i love your job description :)?

or should i simply create a result slide that gather the results from all 4 result slides and track that slide??

tnx

Hello Shay!

I cannot speak to Phil's suggestion above - and he is much better at JavaScript than me :)

Built-in, you would need to choose which result slide reports to the LMS, but it sounds like that will not fully work with your scenario. You can also add a 'result of results' slide, but the passing percentage would need to be adjusted based on taking 1 out of 4 tests - Looks like you are aware of this option as well.

I love our titles and jobs too Shay - thanks for noticing :)
