Multiple text to speech media files playing over each other

Feb 09, 2019

Hello!

I created a slide with 4 layers.  Each layer also has an icon that when clicked goes to a lightbox slide.

At times, when the user closes out of the lightbox slide, multiple text to speech media files from the other layers start playing at the same time.

I've tried setting triggers to stop media from playing when different objects are clicked, but it doesn't work.  It's also very inconsistent when this occurs and when it doesn't occur.

Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Thank you!

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

It sounds similar to an issue our team is investigating right now, where audio files from other slide layers are playing at the same time after closing a lightbox opened from a slide layer. If so, we're looking into the cause and possible fixes, but in the meantime you can workaround this by adding a “Play media trigger when timeline starts” to all the audios in the slide layers.

I'll keep you posted here on the bug as well!

Great news!  We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.

The item you'll be interested in is:

Fixed: Audio tracks from multiple layers could play simultaneously, even when the layers weren't open.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.
