My courses are not publishing

Oct 05, 2016

Hello,

All of a sudden I cannot seem to publish my courses.  The course shows that it has been successfully published but when I click to view, it goes into an endless animation of timing (before a course starts).  The course never starts.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Okay so now I am sharing my published file on a shared drive with my co-workers for feedback before publishing on the LMS and they are encountering a security error message too.  I published locally and then copied the file on the shared drive.  Have been doing this without any problems for months.  Any thoughts?

Hi Noureen!

If you just see a spinning circle or a Flash Player notification when you launch published courses on your local computer, you may be experiencing a new Flash Player security feature. See this article for details and solutions.

We do recommend viewing in the published environment:

If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. See this article for details.

Well, before I publish it on the LMS, I put my project on a shared drive accessible to the SMEs who then give me their feedback.  I then make edits to my projects.  This is an iterative process. We go through several round of feedback and edits before we are ready to publish.  We have never had issues before.  To publish it in the LMS every time is going to be time consuming. We are using IE to open it and it works but I'm not sure if this is a permanent solution.

Hi Noureen!

Viewing the content locally is not something that we've ever supported, but we are learning that many utilize this functionality.

If you do not wish to upload to your LMS, you could certainly publish for local viewing via the 'publish to CD' option available. Otherwise, hopefully your workaround will continue to work for you.
