I am using the Storyline free trial, and when I went to preview a slide that I had added animation to, it says "preparing slide 1/1" and then just shows a blank screen.
This seems like it is a very basic functionality that is not working.
It definitely sounds like odd behavior, and since you mentioned using the free trial, I assume you're also on update 4 of Storyline?
So, I'd suggest if you could check the following:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
Can you try in a new .story file to preview it without the added animation? If that works as expected, you may want to try importing the current file into a new Storyline project to see if that resolves any issues with the file itself. If it's still not previewing, can you tell me a bit more about the animation? Is it animation created within Storyline, a GIF animation or Flash that you've inserted, etc.?
