Naming scenes
Mar 19, 2013
I'm creating a slide with many different layers accessed via hotspots. Each time I create a layer, I give it a name (click on rename and name it). The name appears in the list of layers on the right, but when I view the slide and its layers in preview or slide view, each layer is called "untitled scene." How do name the scenes so that the names appear when the layer is accessed?
For example -- this is a multimedia presentation about the solar system. I've placed an image of the entire solar system on the slide, and a hotspot on the Sun. I've created a layer with information and images about the sun, and named that layer "Sun Info." The hotspot triggers the informational slide. But when I look at the Sun Info layer, while all the info is there, the title presented to the user is "Untitled Scene."
Thanks -- hope this makes sense!

Can you post .story file to help us out here?
Thanks

It sounds like you need to update the name of the project inside of the Player. Have you given the project itself a name yet?
Maybe I'm way off base here, but that's what it sounds like anyways.
Hi Lisa,
A scene is usually shown as a gray box in the Story View, and may have multiple slides in it. So it probably is not your layers that are untitled, but the scene that contains them
To rename that element, right-click on the gray box and select Rename.
(See below)
In the Player Properties menu, under the Menu settings, if you push this button, does it fix it?
thanks -- I THINK that may have worked... will be back if it didn't!
