I have a slide with 4 layers, each narrated. When the user clicks on any one of the 4 numbered touch-points on the main slide, one of the 4 layers appears and the narration for that layer begins. However, when they return to the main screen the original narration begins again. I want the original narration on the main slide to only play once. Is this possible, or must I create another un-narrated duplicate slide for the user to return to in order to resolve this?
Place your "play once" narration in a layer. Trigger to open that layer when entering the slide when a variable (audioplayed13, for slide 13 for example) is false. Set the variable to true when that layer opens. This way, the audio will only play the first visit.
Thanks for the quick response. I'll try it. It's really easy to simply redirect the "return" button back to a duplicate un-narrated slide but I think I'm game to try what you suggest. I'm not too skilled in variables yet but it sounds like the solution I was asking for - thanks again.
This is an old thread, but I tried the solution above and cannot make it work. No matter what I do, the narration continues. With all the triggers and conditions I put on the sound files, I can't understand how they could possibly play, yet they do. Has this actually worked for others?

Lori, do you have a file you could share?
Sure- I don't want to share publicly - where else can I share it?
You can send me an email by clicking on my name, going to my profile and clicking the "contact me" button.
Done, tell me if you don't get it.
