You can package the files as a multi-sco object, I would presume the end course trigger would then navigate to the next course. Depends on the LMS if they are supported.
Score sessions are pretty much sandboxed so the only other option is TinCan. I have seen this working in a custom environment, in effect the developer was using javascript to select the next module via the menu on the web page the courses were hosted.
Thanks Phil, we have had issues with TinCan reporting completions - we are using Totara LMS, so that's probably not an issue for us right now, but I will keep that in mind for the future.
Our LMS Administrator had issues uploading TInCan files to the LMS - he got this error: 'missing imsmanifest.xml or AICC structuremissing imsmanifest.xml or AICC structure'
After a few attempts I gave up on it - so if I can get this to work then I can investigate multi-scos.
We went super simple at my last gig (SumTotal LMS) and just added a button with the following triggers at the end of each course:
Submit completion
URL to the next SCORM course
Exit course
This worked very effectively to simply launch the next course and close the current one. We didn't have any requirements like passing info off from one course to the next, so it worked for us.
One potential liability with multi-sco packages--usually all the modules have to complete successfully for the course to be recorded in the LMS.
So if just one module in the course "misbehaves" and doesn't properly complete for the learner, the larger course itself usually won't usually get marked complete by the LMS.
So while the possibility of this happening is small, it can happen, and when it does, some learners may possibly get upset or frustrated trying to get the situation fixed.
Not saying not to do multi-SCO's and in my old job, we did multi-modules with AICC all the time (until we got SCORM working)--just to be aware of potential liabilities.
I actually was able to put a button/link at the end of my course that took the user to the second half of a two-part course. I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but here's what I did:
1. In LMS, I created the two courses -- no content yet, just simply the name.
2. Went to the 2nd course and copied the direct link to the course
3. In Storyline, I built my button with a trigger Jump to the URL and pasted the course direct link.
My users still needed to be assigned both courses.
Regina, that's exactly the same thing we did with SumTotal LMS. Worked great... the only thing I added was an exit course trigger that helped make sure we closed the first course.
So I had the same issue, wanting to link multiple SCORM modules to create a single course. Here is how I solved it using various tools in Articulate 360
1. create the course modules in SL360
2. Publish the modules to REVIEW 360
3. create the course in Rise360. Using Rise 360 you can import each SL360 Module as a lesson using SLBlocks.

Curses - I was really hoping someone like you, Matthew, would know of a way to do this :-)

Moodle will accept a Multi-sco, so I would presume so would Totara

OK, thanks, I mis-understood Phil's message about multi-sco's - I thought they were related to TinCan, not SCORM.
I dont believe Totara supports tincan out the box
The multi-sco can be pulled together using simple scorm packager

I'll try that - thanks :-)
Hello,
The custom LMS of my client uses Scorm 2004 and I found this code (setvalue ('adl.nav.request', 'continue')). Could this work with Javascript trigger?
Also, do you have some tool suggestions for the scorm packager? For the tracking, does each included course get a complete status or just the package?
Thanks

This worked really well for me.
