I have made master slides for my questions, and disabled the built in previous and next buttons. When a user completes a quiz and tries to review the questions, the green/red bar covers the navigation options and the user can not advance the review.
Any suggestions for a work around that doesn't involve redesigning the master slide?

You can customize the review quiz feedback. However, the red/green bars are not editable.
What you could do is add a rectangle to cover the bar, then place your custom navigation buttons on top.
