Navigation in a Question Bank - Custom Navigation

Jun 08, 2015

I have a question bank I am using to choose and display a single slide from a bank of three slides. It works and the default Previous/Next buttons on each of the three slides navigate as advertised. However, I would prefer to HIDE these buttons and use a keystroke. When I edit the Slide Properties of each slide by removing these buttons and adding a trigger keystroke, the keystroke will not work. The description for Adjusting Slide Properties is described at the link below. When I change to 'Custom for the selected slides' I can remove the Previous and Next buttons and add a trigger to use an assigned keystroke. But, the keystroke won't work.

Any suggestions as to why I cannot get the question bank results to allow a keystroke?

Hi David,

This sounds similar to an issue I shared with our QA team the other weeks in regards to slide/player navigation not working based on a key press trigger in the Flash output when using those triggers associated with the built in buttons, although custom navigation buttons works, and they both work in HTML5 output.

If you'd like to share a copy of your .story file I can take a look and we'll share it with our QA team.

Thanks Ashley. This is a Blackjack game. It will allow me to navigate with Click actions. But, I don't want any of this action seen (i.e. mouse pointer) on screen during in-person presentations. If I use a tablet to display the output, that's not an issue. I can discreetly use Touch. But in the event the source computer is not Touch-enabled, keystrokes would be preferred. I created a RIGHT ARROW trigger to navigate forward. It won't work on the card that is displayed from the question bank.
