Not the help you are looking for, but I suggest that if you know someone who is color-blind, run your color scheme by them. I am color-blind and some combinations that look good to others just do not stand out to me. It's especially a problem when using colored text on a colored background, or using different colors in changing states of something like a button. Color blindness is a problem with about 8% of males so it's pretty common.
