Need jump to next slide after embedded YouTube video plays

Aug 27, 2018

Hello - I am making a Storyline 3 project with several slides that have embedded iframe code with YouTube videos. I need to be able to jump to the next slide when the video ends. The problem is I cannot insert a trigger that would seem to detect when the YouTube video completes (media triggers only seem to work for video objects themselves). I could change slides when the timeline ends, but that won't really work since the YouTube video may take a little time to load and/or buffer during playback. How could I achieve this? Are there any special variables or conditions I could try? Thanks in advance.

After doing a lot of research online, this ends up being a viable solution. It requires the use of a web object instead of just putting in the embedded iframe. Also requires javascript, mostly through YouTube's API. Hopefully it helps. This is also applicable to Vimeo, you just have to adjust for their API. https://www.rabbitoreg.com/2016/01/09/full-control-over-youtube-video-in-storyline/
