Need more detail on the Question Templates In Articulate Storyline

Apr 11, 2013

Hi All,

I have a query regarding Question template in Articulate Storyline.

Is it possible to switch between questions into a number of questions given in a Question bank.

e.g, If i have 7 Question in Question Bank, User can only give answer for 5 questions. Rest 2 is added if user want to SKIP any question so that he can skip twice in a Question bank. And the result will be shown only for other five question.

And also,

Can we make it more like if user gives Wrong Answer twice then we directly take him to the result screen.

Thanks a lot in Advance....

Hi Ashish:

Regarding your question about having 7 questions in a bank that only 5 questions display at a time... yet if the use skips a question or two, the other questions would display. Out of box, Storyline will not do this. I know of no product that would do this out of box.

You could try to use number variables that get set increment based on the  Submit button being clicked in the question pool. The number would increment by 1 each time the Submit button was clicked and if it was less than 5 at the end of the quiz, the user would be directed to one or more slides until the  number varialbe equaled 5. However, this would need to be tested a great deal and I'm sure is new territory for Storyline.

Regarding your question about displaying a result slide, this is something I have done by changing the Incorrect layer to a custom layer and placing the correct answers on it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dennis,

Yes, I can skip the questions but in that my score is appearing on behalf of those 7 Questions, But i want the result only for 5 questions.

Is there any way to do this with variables.

Your suggestion regarding result slide really helped me, Earlier i was doing this with the help of variables. :D

Thanks a Lot....
