Need more options on Text Entry Slide

Nov 24, 2020

I have used a text entry slide in my project but I am feeling restricted by the 10 acceptable answers limit. The possibilities are endless as to how a respondent may phrase their response and I want to make sure they don't wrongly get the incorrect feedback layer. Is there a way to set this up so that they get the correct feedback if their response "contains" any of the acceptable answers? I've attached the slide here. Thank you!

Hi Mary,

Thanks for sharing what you are working on and the difficulty that you're experiencing with your interaction.

There is not a built-in way to have more of an open format of 'including' certain words. If there are a lot of available responses for the user to choose from or variations that may present, perhaps a different type of interaction would work better.

I look forward to other design ideas from the community and in the meantime, I've shared a hotspot interaction that may fit your need.

Hi Mary,

It's working as expected for me.

Since you have two files that are not working as expected, it sounds like it may be your software.

Do you know what version of Storyline you're using?

You can check by going to:
Help > About Articulate Storyline

We are currently on Build 3.46.23620.0 of Storyline 360. You can read all of the details here

If you are on the latest build, please repair your software installation to see if the files work as expected then.

Thanks Leslie, I know what I was doing wrong, I wasn't hitting the submit button! (I never use the player buttons, always custom ones so thought I just had to click on the hotspot, sorry!).

I tried to replicate what you did but when I hit the hotspot then my custom check button it says incorrect... any ideas?
