I want to be able to show a description layer when the user hovers over an item on a map. When Storyline shows the layer, I want a sound to play (description of item on the map). When the user stops hovering over the item, I want the layer to keep displaying until the audio is done playing. It seems like Storyline is hard wired to hide the layer as soon as the user moves the mouse away from the item (stops hovering). Is there a way to disable this behavior?

Assuming that you use a hotspot to show your layer, make sure that the hotspot's 'Restore on mouse leave' option is unchecked.
Then, set your layer's properties to "Hide slide layer when timeline finishes" as in the attached quick example.
Awesome! THANK YOU!
I just came back and read this again because I had already forgotten how to do this after less than a week. So, DOUBLE THANKS!
