New markers can't be pasted on existing scrolling panel

Aug 19, 2021

Hi all -

I'm hoping you can help. I've been having trouble with a project that I lost entirely last night. I'm trying to rebuild it today and it's been all tears.

I built my new project off of an existing one that had a great scrolling area for a big screenshot that had lots of custom markers. I needed more. I was able to copy and paste a certain amount into my scrolling area, but after a certain point I was not able to paste markers ON the scrolling area - even with the scroll box selected, any marker I try to paste winds up above or below the scroll area on the timeline, not IN it.

Can you help? I'm new to Storyline and it's been pretty pleasant up until this point.  Thanks so much!

Hi Shari,

I'm sorry to hear you've been running into so much trouble editing your project! I've opened a case on your behalf to connect you with our support team. They're well equipped to offer guidance on what you're trying to accomplish and can lend a hand!

You should receive an email with a personal upload link to share your .story file. Once our team receives it, they'll begin testing and get back to you on next steps.

One tip I'd like to share is to be sure you're saving locally, as working from a network drive or having your files synced to a cloud app like OneDrive can cause erratic behavior.

We look forward to working through this with you!
