New Question About Setting Slide Properties

May 03, 2012

I create many presentations using power point with video.  All of it does import into Storyline with no major issues.  Since I have so many, I have a program that generate these presentations.

Once in Storyline, I need to change the Slide Properties "Side Advance" to "By User" on all my slides.  Does anyone know if this can be done as a default or a way to change all of them at once instead of doing it by hand one at a time ???

Or is there a way to change the timing so that it doesn't change for a very ... very long time ????

Is there a HotKey that will also open the Slide Properties window ???

On the left side of normal view, all the slides are show in a tree branch.   Can I have it displayed one after each other like in MS Power Point ??

Thanks,

G

Gary,

Try viewing in Story view. Select all of the slides, and on the right you will be able to change the slide properties for all to "By User".

You can extend the timeline for as long as you want if you'd like to torture the user into staying on the slide for an extended period of time.

To see slide properties, use the gear at the bottom right (next to the slide name) in the slide layers area.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gary,

In Slide View, shift + click the slides & then you can update the properties for multiple slides:

There's not a keyboard shortcut for slide properties.  However, here's a list of supported keyboard shortcuts:

Regarding the Scene View, it will display according to how your course is branched.  If you have one slide that simply branches to the next one, it will display all in one row.  Otherwise, it will display how it does in Story View.

Hi Gary - you can change the slide properties all at once. You do this from the Story View tab. Click this tab  and then select all of the slides (Ctrl+A  is the hotkey to select them all).  You should see a Slide panel at the right of the tree view that says "Properties for Multiple Users" This is where you can change the slide advances from Automatically to By User.

As for the timing - this is controlled by the length of the timeline on each slide so I don't think there is a way to change them all at once.

I'm not sure if there is a Hotkey to open slide properties.

You can't display the Story View (tree view) to show the slides one after the other like in PowerPoint. Once you get used to the story view you will find it is better than the PowerPoint display because it shows you how all of slides in your project are connected. This is really useful if you do a lot of branching.
