NEW REQUEST

Sep 02, 2019

Hi,

I am posting a new request as no one has replied to my previous discussion from last week. I need some advice on how to get an audio file to play consistently over slide layers. I have created a screencast explainer video with layers that appear to provide detailed information as the video progresses. I would like to add a soundtrack to the project but I have encountered 2 problems:

1.  When I publish the project to video the resolution is very blurry (please see attached file. I published to the highest resolution using the Story Slide (720 x 540) option. I would usually then add an audio file to the MP4 output file, but as I said the resolution is not of an acceptable quality, even when published to all other size options. )

2. I then tried to add the audio file to the Storyline project with the intention of adding the project to Rise and sending the URL to learners for viewing. When I do this, the audio file plays through the first 2 slide layers accordingly, but then stops when it reaches the third layer. I have tried the recommendations on all other chats with similar problems, but nothing seems to be working. It would be ideal if I could get the soundtrack to play from the first slide, through all the following sides with their layers up to the end slide (and set it to loop if the sound clip is not long enough for the the full project)

This is a problem I regularly encounter when creating training videos, but usually when published to the biggest screen size and highest resolution the quality is excellent and I can simply add the audio file using another programme.

Please will you take a look at the attached files and revert back.

Kind regards

Nicole

There seems to something terribly wrong with this discussion platform. I have posted this discussion twice now and both times the attachments have not been attached successfully?

Please find said attachments below. Your earliest response would be much appreciated as it is now a week later since my I first posted a discussion regarding this matter.

I think it is a combination of issues, 720x540 is a very small slide size and could probably do with being bigger. You are using screen recordings  which are taken larger (956x718) than the slide size so when shrunk down will look blurry on publish (they look blurry on the slide).

You may get better output using the 1080P option for the output.

For the audio you cannot get an audio file to play across more that one slide, it may work better if you build on one slide and set the media to play when the media ends, or add in via video editing software at the end.

Hi Nicole,

I see your original post here and that Vincent was able to reply to you. Glad to see that Phil has chimed in to help you out as well.

Are you seeing an error when first posting a discussion and adding your attachments? It looks like they are coming through successfully on your replies.

I wanted to mention that you can also get assistance if needed directly from our support team by submitting a request here. You can also check out our complete support policy.

Thanks Leslie. Still working on the right solution. To answer your question, when I upload the attachments on the original query it doesn't display anything on my side...only when I reply in a new comment and reattach are the attachments actually visible to me.

I have posted a further query using the "here" link you advised above.

Thanks for all the help.
