In the first scene - objectives slide the learner should be able to simply click the Next buttton to preview three columns of Objectives... the third objective refuses to display and there is no continuing on unless you use the menu as the driver...
First problem... why won't my third objective column display
2nd question... you can just click next and / or the menu items to view content correct?
Note these are imported PPT slides... Video does not exist yet and will replace the placeholders. FYI. Thanks for the help...
I have looked at your project. To do what you want to do I would probably use custom buttons or states or something else but surely not the next button. So, to your 2nd question, there are plenty of ways to display stuff or to add interactivity to your story. My suggestion to you is to look at the different possibilities offered by the trigger panel.
Note that the triggers can be assigned to about anything : shape, text boxes, hyperlink... you can add buttons, hotspots, etc.

I just took another look to your project and noticed something.
On the Objective2 layer, your trigger was set on an object, the white rectangle covering the objective 3 column.
I have set the trigger on the next button and it all explains why I wouldn't use the "next button".
The next button is at the player level and the triggers just add themselves so it doesn't work.
As you said, the next button is the best thing to go from one slide to the other but not to show layer.
I uploaded the file with the triggers on the next button, if you look at your slide you will see both triggers.
