I was able to import using the instructions above, but many of the slides have come across as "untitled" or even marked as "(missing)".
Somebody suggested I open the files using presenter 13 and export from that. Do you think this would improve my experience? And if so, is the 30 day trial version of presenter 13 sufficient for this?
Just to clarify, I went back to the original presentation to compare it to the imported version. The "untitled" slides were just marked "slide 2", "slide 3", etc in the original version, so I thing they had never been given a proper title. I expect this is easily fixed just by giving them new titles in Storyline.
As for the "missing" slides, these ones appear to have been slides where there was buttons and interaction inside the slides. I'd really like to be able to recover these slides.
FYI, I've got ~50 of these old presentations to process, so anything to help make this go smoother would help :)
Hi Lucien! Are you working with local project files? Is your .ppt file and .ppta file in the same folder? What version of Powerpoint are you running? Would you be able to share your Articulate Package for us to attempt the import into Storyline 1?
I think there might be some confidentiality issues with the presentations, so I can't upload the files for you :(
But here are some screen shots.
One shows the list of all the files in the project folder. There is a .ppta and .pptm file in the same folder, so I think that bit is ok.
The other screenshot is of one of the problem slides. When the user clicks on any of the buttons on the left, different media content (including video) get's shown on the right hand side. There are several slides like this in the presentation, and all of them fail to import, reulting in a blank slide with a title "missing".
Cheers,
Lucien.
PS, I don't have copies of the original assets used create these slides, so reproducing them in Storyline is not a viable solution.

Hi Lucien!
Here's how to import PowerPoint/Articulate Presenter '09 content into Articulate Storyline.
Although most features in PowerPoint and Presenter are supported in Storyline, some aren't. See this article for details.
Thanks for your help Leslie.

More details:
I've installed the trial version of Presenter '13 and it can open these projects just fine. It appears the troublesome slides are Engage content.
Is there a way to export Engage for Storyline 1?
Perhaps an alternative is for me just to license Presenter 13' and work with that instead?
Cheers,
Lucien.
It seems I might not need to move these presentations into Storyline after all (well not immediately anyway).
I still have an issue opening these files in Presenter 13, but I'll move this discussion into a more appropriate forum.
Cheers,
Lucien.
Hi Lucien! Looks like we snagged that question over here for you :)
