"next" and "submit" buttons do not work

Oct 21, 2015

I am afraid that this must be a very basic question but the 'next' and 'submit' buttons do not work... would someone tell me what is wrong with my file?

Hi Mariko,

Thanks for sharing the .story file here with us. I took a look and didn't see any reasons why it shouldn't be working (checked triggers, slide properties, player settings, etc.) and also tried importing into a new file and adding in some of the triggers myself to no avail. Can you tell us a bit more about how you created this file and where you've been working on it? Did you follow along with the guidelines here in regards to working on project files?

Mariko Shishikrua

Yes, I have followed all the guideline there, and one of my collegues told me that he encountered a similar problem before, and when he downgraded the Storyline, the problem was fixed. In fact, when he published the file, it is working fine!!! I am using the version 5 when his downgraded version is 4:1501.717. Are you aware of any of this kind of bug problems?

Hi Mariko,

I was testing it in Storyline Update 7 which is our latest update and saw the odd behavior there as well but only in Preview. Since it worked normally for your colleague in Update 4, I'm curious if it worked in preview in addition to publish? Update 5 fixed a number of issues as detailed here in the release notes and we do always recommend being on the latest update and when working collaboratively that you use the same update.

Could you colleague share the Update 4 version here with us as well? I'd like to see how that one behaves when I use Update 7.

Hi, Mariko -- Thanks for your patience while I tested your file. I believe that I encountered the same odd behavior Ashley experienced when I tested the most recent file submitted with Update 7, however, I am not able to advance past the first slide in either Preview or after publishing and testing on the SCORM Cloud.

I think it would be most beneficial at this time for our Support Engineers to look at your file more closely in order to determine where the disconnect may be taking place. In order to save your time and additional effort, I will gladly create a ticket for you, and a member of our Support Staff will be reaching out to you via the email address we have on file as soon as possible.
