I'm building a course that is locked step, and the user cannot click the NEXT button until the timeline ends.
Question- Does every slide require its own variable specific to that slide to delay the NEXT button, or can I use a global type variable for this effort?
Roger, here is a quick example of how this could work. You could add the triggers to set and reset the variable on the master slide. This way, you don't have to add them to each slide. Then you could add a condition to the trigger on the Next button on one slide so that the Next button only works when the variable is True. Lastly, you could copy&paste this modified trigger into each slide. Hope that makes sense.
Sorry this system does not like arrows, and it cuts off my reply.............I'll try a 3rd time.
Michael, it does make sense and works well, however some of my slides are a little long (timeline) and once the user completes a slide and clicks the previous button the variable resets and they must wait until the timeline completes. I'd like the user to advance using the NEXT button from a slide they have previously visited.
Oh that's a 'different story' then. If you want the user to prevent from skipping ahead, but allow hem to go back and not sit through the whole slide length again, then you do need a completion variable for each slide. One other option would be to add a variable that signifies when the course has been completes once (it could be set on the last slide). Once learners hit the last slide (meaning they sat through the complete course once), they are free to go to any slide AND use the Next button anytime to skip ahead. See attached a quick example.
I just wanted to welcome you to the Heroes community, and it looks like you've got some great help from Michael here. If you need anything else, just let us know!

My question:
The above example seemed to time out and I cannot open it.
Could I see the example for a variable that signifies when the course has been completed (end of course) once again?
I was also able to download it from the site - let us know if you're able to try again, and I could always try to find another way to share it with you.

You can 're-use' the same variable, as long as you reset it at the start of each slide's timeline.
Thanks Michael, however I have minimum articulate experience.
Can you expand on the reset process please.
This course is 336 slides and I'd hate to create all those variables.
I'm using a True/False variable to delay the NEXT button until the timeline ends.
Thanks again - Roger

Roger, is there something missing from your last post?

Do you know of a fix for this issue.

That's what I figured...............I'll work on that one..................thanks again for your assistance!!

I just tried to download the file and it works for me. Maybe it was just a 'hiccup', try again.
