Next Button Flashing Between Slides

Apr 04, 2019

Hi there! I'm having an issue with the NEXT button flashing between slide transitions. The first slide is set up to advance when the user clicks on a slide element, there is no NEXT button in the slide's properties. So the user clicks the element on the slide, and advances to the next slide. The next slide does have a NEXT button set up in its properties. However, at the start of slide #2's timeline, the NEXT button is set to be hidden (and then appear normal at the end of the slide's timeline). When the user jumps to the next slide, the NEXT button briefly flashes on the screen and then becomes hidden again. What could be causing this issue? We have slides like this throughout this and other courses with no other issues, and the programming is identical. Any ideas? Thank you! :)

Hello Madeline,

I found a similar case that you are experiencing from this link:

https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/next-button-flashes-at-beginning-of-slide

Please check Ashley's suggestion at the bottom of that page for the possible resolution.

"The modification made to help prevent this was to:

to modify your trigger to use "When timeline reaches 0" instead of 'when timeline starts.'"

I hope it helps!

Hi Madeleine,

Let us know if that idea doesn't work, and we'd be happy to take a look at your .story file to investigate further. You can share it here in the E-Learning Heroes community by uploading here or send it along to our Support Team if you needed to share privately.

The other piece of that issue mentioned was that it only occurs on slides with a slide transition. If you're not using those, it could be that you've run into something else and then it would be helpful to take a look at your file.
