Next Button player trigger

Feb 16, 2015

I've converted a course from SL1 to SL2 and am making changes to it. However there is one thing I haven't changed but which is acting differently...  On slides that have a Player Trigger for "Jump to Next Slide when User Clicks the Next Button" -  the user can't skip through the slides by clicking Next, because the Next button doesn't work until the timeline ends.  The navigation has been set to Restricted, not Locked, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Any ideas??

Here's another method to try. If you don't have narration or anything critical tied to the end of the timeline, shorten the end point to the least amount of time required to deliver the information (e.g. 5 seconds). That will allow the restricted menu to work as designed, and then it will activate the Next button quickly for the fast learning user.

I had to do this on a single true/false question slide that would not advance for love nor money. Turns out the default timeline on the question slide was 35 seconds, which no one would wait for before clicking the Next button and cursing why it did not work.

Hope this helps someone. DW
