I was hoping that someone would have a suggestion about how to hide the previous/next buttons in a slide layer, while keeping them in the main slide. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
You could probably set up a trigger on layer to change them back to normal once that layer's timeline (or something with the interaction on that layer) have completed.
The other option would be to set up some quick variables and connect the state changes to those.

Hi Nate,
You could add triggers to change the state of the Next/Prev buttons to disabled when the timeline starts for the layers.
If you do that, you'll need to think through when it would be appropriate to turn them back on, and how you should do that. Hope that helps.
Okay, I see what you mean. & you're right, I'll have to play around w/ it so I can get the buttons back when I need them. But this is a good start.
Thanks, Luke.
No problem, Nate. Glad that helped.

You have already done the calculation: Change state of NEXT to normal when ... Whatever action closes the layer.
Good suggestion, Walt. I'll link the "Show Normal state" for the controls to the trigger that hides the layer.
Thanks guys; this was quite helpful.
