Next Slide Trigger not working

Hi there,
I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why a particular slide will not advance. I have tried to set the trigger several different ways.
1. Jump to next slide when timeline ends
2. Jump to "Name of slide" when timeline ends
3, Jump to the "name of slide when timeline reaches" *** seconds
4. Jump to next slide when user presses next
5. Jump to the "name of slide" when user presses the next button ( i added a button)
I attempted to re-do the slide all over again from scratch, and took out the audio just as a trial and the slide still will not advance. I then closed the file, then redid the slide in a brand new SL2 file. Still no luck. The slide properties has been set to "advance by user". I am working in SL2.
What is the problem here?

The issue seems to be with rectangle 2 and rectangle 3. As soon as I turn off these two shapes the Next buttons work. I would try to delete and recreate these two shapes.
