No Audio after published in Storyline

Hi All,
Does anyone came across audio issues with Storyline?
I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Storyline is not able to publish with audio.
Strangely, audio was intact while previewing the entire slides and I could hear it. But not after I published it.
Why is that so?
I have tried exporting the current track(MP3) and re-import it onto slides via "Insert" > "Sound from files" but still the audio doesnt show up after publishing it.
Any solution to this? Anyone experiencing this issue too or am I the lucky one?
Thanks!!

Glad to hear it Mohamed. Thanks for the update :)
I am having this issue as well. I have both recorded (within Storyline) audio and imported audio from a file, and some files work and others don't. All of the audio plays when previewed, but then I publish - to scorm - and upload to reviewmyelearning (which is meant for scorm) and some of the audio doesn't work - other parts do... There doesn't seem to be a pattern to what works and what doesn't.
HI Pam,
Have you also looked at testing this within SCORM Cloud? It's an industry standard for testing LMS content and if it also doesn't work there we'd want to take a look at the .story file to see how it's behaving.
Hi there - nope still not working. the animations on the slides aren't working either - I have to click along the progress bar to get them to appear. Who can I email the file to?
Hi Pam,
You can upload the file here in the forums using the "add attachment" button or if you prefer to share with me privately you can also send it along here.
Hi there,
I'm having a similar issue. I have audio files added as .wav on all different slides but for some reason on 1 slide the audio doesnt work when I publish it. (Works fine in preview) I publised and up uploaded within our LMS and it still doenst work. We publish it for SCORM.
What is strange is that this is an old file that worked fine before, but I had to make a change to 1 slide (not the one the audio is not working on) and since then I can't get the audio on the other slide.
Any ideas? help. Unfortunately I can't upload the file here or send it privately!!
Thanks
Hi, Gemma -- So sorry to hear you are having difficulties! Sometime those who are not able to share their actual files due to confidentiality issues will find that they are still able to receive assistance from the community if they post a sample file that illustrates the behavior/issue (or even a pared down version with sensitive material omitted). I did also want to note if you should decide to share your file privately, it would only be visible to Articulate staff members, and we always hold customer confidentiality in the highest regard.
Otherwise, I might suggest that you try importing your file into a new file and if you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Please say the word if you need more help! :)
Hi Christie, thanks so much for your response.
The way the course is created is with 2 layers for the audio, one with a female voice and the other with a male voice. I just noticed that on the layer the square that appears next to the male slide layer looks slightly different to the female - could this be the reason and do you know what it means? See attached screenshot.
Hi, Gemma -- Hmmn, I personally can't say that I have encountered what appears in your screenshot before with the different size boxes. It's so hard to nail down exactly what is happening without being able to take a look at the file itself (which I know you said you are unable to share).
Could you do me another favor and see if you encounter the same behavior when you test your course in the intended environment? And as you mentioned that you are publishing for LMS, you may also want to see if you run into the same issue when you test your output in the SCORM Cloud, as that environment is the industry standard for LMS testing.
OK - so I have saved the file and removed all slides that are not required and added new audio (the audio quality is bad) but you will see that when you select the female character the audio plays, if you select the male character it doesn't.
Shall I use that link above to send you the file? Or does it just go to anyone within Articulate? Thanks again for your help with this.
Hi, Gemma -- Thanks so much for your response, and you actually have a few options for file submission! :)
I wanted to let you know that you would be able to use this link (and put your file to my attention if you would like me to check it out as soon as possible tomorrow morning).
OR, if you need immediate assistance, here is the form you would use to send to our Support Engineers who are able to provide round-the-clock support. Whichever option you choose, rest assured that your file will be reviewed confidentially.
Thanks Christie. I already sent it in (sorry, little impatient) to the first link and I did put in this discussion URL so hopefully it will get to you. If not, then as long as someone can look at as it's so bizarre and specially because it worked before and I havent changed anything on that "troublesome" slide!
Thanks again
Hi, Gemma -- Thanks and I see that your case, 00716398, was received! I will be taking a look at it shortly and I will be in touch (via the email address we have on file for you) with my findings as soon as possible. :)
Hi,
The audio on my video slides does not work after I publish by project. The audio on all slides with images and text boxes works fine, but the audio on the slide that I also have a video file does not work. The video plays fine. The audio works when I am previewing, and when I publish and click "preview file" it also plays there, but once I zip it up to save to my computer, it does not work. All other slides audio plays fine.
Please Help!!
Melissa
Hi Melissa!
Sorry to hear that you are running into this issue as well. I wanted to pop in and be sure that you are publishing and sharing the content as we explain in this documentation. Viewing the content locally and not in the intended environment may not provide accurate results.
Please be sure that you are utilizing a supported viewing environment as well.
If you need us to take a look, you are welcome to share the .story file.
i'm having this problem as well. Initially it was only a couple of videos with audio problems, so it was an easy job to replace them in the content. I've made some changes and now a majority of the videos don't output sound. Is there a fix for this? I've tried LMS out put and just web output
Hi Sam!
This thread is a bit dated, but I'd love to help you out.
What version of Storyline are you using?
Would you be able to share the .story file for us to take a look? Just point me to the problematic slides.
I'm using the latest version of 360
Is there an email I can send it to, as it's for a client so can't really be broadcast publicly
Absolutely Sam!
You are welcome to share privately with our team here.
awesome, thank you
Thanks Sam - you should be hearing from someone soon.
I know this thread is quite old, but I've seen this issue mainly when replacing an existing video instead of taking it out and importing a new version.
Hi Frederic,
Thanks for chiming in to share your findings and experience with the community here.
Are you having difficulty with a project now or just sharing that insight? Just want to be sure I do not overlook anything or misread :)
Hi Leslie,
I was simply sharing insight on a behaviour that I noticed.
No worries. Just double checking. Thanks for chiming back in with an update :)
