I have been tasked with updating an Articulate e-leaning. I have work files, and powerpoint but no ".story" files which would be the project file.
How do I get all the files needed (and what are they) imported into Storyline so that I can start with what was previously created without starting from scratch :)
I am importing the power point so that is a big help. Then it tries to load the Engage information but that is when everything seem to start having issues.
It says the Engage files are used by another person or program however I am the only one working on this project which I have copied to my c: drive as it is recommended.
Do you have the original Engage files? I'd try importing those directly - and you'll just want to make sure that you've got Engage installed as described here.
I do have engage installed. When I import the power point it tries to import the engage files at that time.
From you post, I gather I should import all the engage files first and then import the power point. Am I correct?
I have moved all the work files onto my laptop as per some of the recommendation but I wonder if the power point file is actual still pointing to the server files.
when you are at import stage click the None option in the top right corner to deselect all the slides then you can selectively click on the ones you want to bring in
You mentioned server and copied to your C drive - were these originally being worked on off of the server? Having them worked on off the server could have created some additional issues with the files. You mentioned that it may still be pointing to the server too - so you'll want to make sure that the Powerpoint file, the .ppta file and your Engage files are all on the local drive - and that the powerpoint file and the .ppta file are in the same folder.
Yes they are all in the same folder on my desktop. I was loading a few slides at a time and may have found the ones with issues. But now my Articulate story line is not responding. I will let it be for a bit longer and see what happens. I have no other application running at this point.

Hi Marie-Agnes,
There isn't a way to revert the published files into a .story file - but if it's based off the powerpoint, you can import that into Storyline and began working from there.

Any idea why I have issues with the engage files?

Thank you! I will try that today!

I will have to figure this out slowly it seems.

Hi Marie-Agnes,
I'm glad you've narrowed it down - and please feel free to keep us posted.
