Non-existing state(s) showing in preview

Hi there,
When I was previewing a module, I noticed some text boxes show the "state" of a blue box when hovering over the text in preview mode. I did not set any states on this particular slide. When recreating the slide with the same text (not copied from the original slide!) it is having the same issue.
I attached a file including:
- slide 1.1: this is the original slide. I played around on that slide trying to break the text box in 2 separate ones, resulting in 1 text box (the one italic line in the top part) that seems stuck and it not visible on the timeline
- slide 1.2: this is the new slide I created from scratch, same text, same problem (not copied from slide 1.1!)
- slide 1.3: this is an example of a slide from the same file that behave as expected in the preview. I added this as it has some of the same features, such as "by paragraph fade in" on some text boxes. Perhaps this is helpful.
I'm can't figure out why this one slide 1.1 and it's newly created replica slide 1.2 are behaving differently in the preview when hovering over the slide.

Here is the file with the three slides described in my post.
Was this a translation? Only time I have ever seen it is in files where a translation import has happened. It goes away if you remove the character formatting.

Thanks for your quick response! I'm not aware this was a translation, but some of the text was copied from another document, so there must have been something there.
Removing the character formatting worked; thank you!
