Have you tried importing the slides into a new Storyline file and seeing if that works? I've seen this used as a troubleshooting step on other posts with a similar issue. Or if the preview is for a specific slide or scene, you can try removing that slide's objects one by one to see if you find the problem that way.
Another good way to drill down on the issue is to open a blank course and see if you're getting the same behavior. If you experience the same issue with that, you can always do a quick repair (more on that here) of SL.
