Wow! Now when am trying it is giving me the same error. Then is there a problem with my Storyline? I recently updated to version 9 of Storyline 2. Could that be an issue?
It looks like you submitted a case (# 00811148 for my reference) and it's been assigned to my colleague Renato who will be in touch shortly. I'll keep an eye and follow up here as well.
Was there a solution to this problem? I have exactly the same issue. The support person is able to import my ppt into my Storyline project, but I cannot. Both are running as administrator, and I have updated checked, and rebooted everything!
Do you have a support case number so that I can see what work you already did with our team? If they're able to import the file it may be something specific to your set up and/or powerpoint version?
Thanks Chantal - and just an FYI that responding via email includes your signature here so you're welcome to edit the post to remove that information if you'd like.
I know I am responding to an old thread, but wanted to share a work around that helped me fix this issue. I faced the exact same issue and I was unable to import my PowerPoint presentations into Storyline. I tried several other approaches suggested in the forums but nothing helped. Here's what finally worked for me -
1) Open PowerPoint in Admin mode 2) Now open the PPT file that you are trying to import to Storyline 3) Save the PPT file 4) Now try importing this PPT file and it works fine.
Great to hear, Chantal! Thanks for letting us know what you did to solve the problem. That'll surely help anyone who has a similar problem in the future. :)
Thank you for all your suggestions. Until recently I was not able to import PowerPoint into Storyline, but few months back our systems were upgraded to office 365..and my problem was resolved!

Hi Nandita
what error message are you getting?
Check a couple of things:
these can sometimes cause issues with the import.
Hi Wendy,
I am getting the error: "Failed to import PowerPoint Presentation". No, the PPT is not open and it is on my desktop. :(
Regards,
Nandita
Hi Nandita
happy to try and import the ppt into a new file if you want me to have a go.
Just let me know what story size you are using and attach the ppt here using the grey 'Add Attachment' button at the bottom of the post.
Sure Wendy. Thank you for trying.
The Story size is 900 (W) by 540 (H). Attached is the PPT.
Here you go...imported straight in no problem

Hard to say but you could try a SL repair...

Ok Let me try this as well. Thank you so much for your help!

Old forum or not, we still appreciate the idea and suggestion Vijay! Thanks for popping in here.
I eventually upgraded my MS Office to 2013, and then it worked like a charm! At first I was trying with 2010.
