Not saving

Hello everyone,

I have now encourtered a problem with Storyline a couple of times. I work on Storyline day in and day out at work, and hit the save button atleast every fifteen minutes. I watch the little green bar complete and dissappear at the bottom of the screen and continue. However, yesterday after saving and shutting down something went wrong. I turned on the computer this morning (Thursday) and all my work from yesterday (7 hours of labour) was gone. It had all vanished.

When I opened the file all the work from Monday and Tuesday was still intact but Wednesday had completely vanished.

This isn't the first time it happens either. A couple of weeks ago I had 4 hours dissappear when I got back to my computer the next day.

Any reason for this? Anything that could help me recover the lost work?

Hi Alexandra,

I'm sorry to hear about your lost work. I'd like to know a bit more about how you're working on this file and what update of Storyline you're using. We're currently on update 6 of Storyline and you'll want to make sure you're working on your files as described below:

Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

Please let us know if the behavior is still occurring after checking into those items.

Yes, this is happening to me too!

I working on my local drive and my pathway file name is less than 260 characters and there are no special symbols in the file name. Is there anything else that could causing these problems?
