We are working on a module and we have a notebook in the slide master so when users over over the hot spot the notebook pops up however in preview mode when you hover over the notebook it pops up and goes back to base layer (ignoring the layer its currently on and we just want it to stay on the layer/tab it was previously on when opening the notebook.
Did anyone experience this before, I searched the forum but couldn't find a solution.
Without seeing the actual file it's difficult to guess. Has your layer a trigger that hides the layer at the end of its timeline? Or has the hotspot the 'Restore on mouse leave' option selected?
The 'Restore on mouse leave' option is selected and I don't think it has a trigger that hides the layer at the end of its timeline but please find the file attached.

It was checked, I just unchecked it but still gives the same issue, once I hover over the notebook the layer disappears and it goes back to the base layer.
Hi Nicola, the problem is that you have the layers set to hide other layers so when the hover shows it hides all the other layers go into the slide master and uncheck the hide other layers on both of the layers.
I tried that on the file you attached and it stopped going to the base layer on hover and showed the notepad on click. You will need to set a trigger to hide the hover layer on clicking.

if it is on the slide master on a layer have you unchecked the hide other layers in the layer properties?

If you look at the layer properties for your slide master layers and the individual layers themselves - it's set to hide other slide layers.
you also need to uncheck the restore on mouse leave

Hi Phil, tried that and its still going back to the base layer when I hover or click on the notebook.
