notes page

I am wondering if anyone has any good suggestions about a note taking area.  I am not sure if it can be put into a SL2 course or if it needs to or should be a plugin or widget (I'm using Wordpress for my courses).  I'm not using an LMS at present, but the course I'm working on would benefit from subscribers or just users that show up (at present we do not require registration to take a course) to be able to record their thought responses to the material for later recall at the end of a lesson.  Anyone have a suggestion?  THANKS!!!
