I have recently been publishing courses through SL with the understanding that the 'Notes' section on the Ipad would not show due to a limitation. However, After making the SL update that was released, the notes section now appears on iPad in HTML5 output.
Was this part of the updates? Or did I "accidentally" stumble upon how to make this visible?

Yes, the notes tab was an addition to the HTML5 output. For more information, see the release notes for Update 1 here:
