In 5 years working with Storyline, I have never come across this before. Thank goodness for this 3-year-old thread; I thought I was going to pull my hair out.
Doesn't look like my slides have custom player settings, but I'm not sure how to be sure. I selected the slide, checked the Player settings. Custom isn't an available option.

1. Do your slides have notes to display
2. Is the notes option ticked in the slide properties

Thanks guys. you saved me again. Apparently some slides where set to custom player and the others were set to default.
