Numeric Question: Maximum number of fields?

Jul 02, 2018

Hi, I'm working in Storyline 360 and using the numeric graded question slide to create quiz questions.   Is there a maximum number of fields?  I have an answer that is 9 digits long, with a further 4 decimal places (don't ask... :-)) ! Storyline is reporting this as incorrect, even if the answer entered matches.  I have to drop the 4 decimal places to be able to get a correct answer.

I was able to use this number in Storyline 2 and have recently upgraded, so wanted to check if there is a restriction?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi there, Kirsty.  Currently, you can have 8 total characters with a decimal point (so a decimal and 7 digits), OR you can have 10 total digits without a decimal point.

The acceptable answer field allows for 14 digits, so I'm going to clarify with my team about that discrepancy.  In the meantime, could you use a fill-in-the-blank question type to grab the right answer?  It worked for me with a correct answer of 123456789.1234.

I'll keep you posted!

Hi Kirsty,

I have some good news to share!

We just launched the newest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.36.21213.0) this morning, which fixed the numeric-entry questions that were evaluated incorrectly even when learners entered the right answer.

The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have by posting in this discussion, or you can contact our Support Engineers directly here.
