Numeric variable problem

Feb 11, 2013

I've created a numeric variable that starts at 0.  There are 6 scenarios that are in the course, and for each scenario the user is to choose if the person in the scenario took the ethical or unethical course of action.  I set it up so that when the user answers correctly, one point is added to the numeric value (trigger on clicking on the button of correct answer); and no point is added for an inccorect answer (trigger on clicking on the button of the incorrect answer).  After scenario #6, if the value of the numeric variable is 4 or more, the user may progress to the next scene; and if the numeric value is less than 4, the user must go back and review the content.

The evaluation of the value of the numeric variable isn't working - in fact, none of the additions to the numeric variables are.  I added seeing the value to each scenario to try and see what's happening, and the value is staying at zero the whole way through.  Help!

Hi Lucy,

Tx for the docs. Could you upload the .story file instead of the published output? At least for me, that would make it easier. First, though...

I did look at the snapshot from Word, and I THINK it might be trigger order. It looks like users would actually be jumping to the next slide BEFORE the count is being added. For Button 1, which looks to be the Incorrect button, that doesn't matter, since you're not adding anything. But for Button 2, the Correct button (I believe), it would make a difference. So, try swapping the order. If that doesn't work, please can you upload the .story file?
