Numeric variables and javascript/HTML

I apologize if this has been covered in a previous thread, but I am unable to search the forums at the moment (side note - does this happen to anyone else on this site? It's semi-regular for me to come to this site and search something, and get no results regardless of the search just me?)

I have created a completion certificate file for a Storyline training - borrowing and copying and editing to the best of my limited ability. I have an HTML file, into which I am bringing variables from the Story (user's name, etc.) I know very little about HTML coding, javascript, etc. but have figured out just enough to make these text variables work. Where I'm running into a roadblock is trying to bring in a numeric variable. I assume there's a variation in the code that I need, but I haven't been able to find it (probably not running the right searches). Can anyone point me in the right direction?
