I'm trying to create a freeform pick many quiz question, and the selections are a combination of a box of text and a character. I've created states for each option to combine the text and image and added a bit of styling - but for some reason my "normal" state (character is grayed out when not selected) is superimposed on top of the item when it is on the hover and selected states. You can see what I mean here: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/da8f16d5-6cea-4488-be97-727610eaeeea/review
Has anyone else come across this? Is it a glitch? Is there a workaround?
Thanks Richard! I'm still testing various workaround ideas on my end too... frustrating when things don't do what you expect them too. I'm assuming this is some weird glitch - especial since when in the work area when you hover over the various states they look like they function fine... until you preview or publish of course.
Oh my goodness!!! Thank you so much Richard!!! This did the trick! I have been trying so many things to achieve the effect I wanted. I got to the point where I was using multiple object with multiple states/triggers/variables. It was really getting quite ridiculous! This is much more clean and (more importantly) effective!
Thanks for taking the time to piece this one out - I really appreciate it!
Actually I'm quite surprised I haven't seen this issue brought up more, and I'm glad we'll know what to do next time. Best of luck on the rest of the project!

Hi Richard,
Darn - I was hopeful for a moment there, but alas, it did not work :(
Sorry about that. I think I'll do some tests on my end and repost, unless someone else jumps in.

Hi Wanda, So apparently this issue has been around awhile , and here's what I now know.
The real problem is ...............................(Any object added to your Normal State will persist on other states)!
The Basic Solution is to Create your Base image from the Character images, and Not the banners below( which I am deducing you did).
I recorded 2 quick videos to illustrate the procedure, and the story file.
So the MORAL of the Story is "Don't add characters to your Normal, if you ever want them to leave" : )
