Objects moving on Hover when they are not suppose to move at all

Sep 10, 2018

Hello and thank you in advance for helping if you can.

I'm creating a game where a player places his/her cards in drop boxes to get their fraction and/or combo of whole numbers and fractions to be as close to the target number as possible. The computer plays the other side.

All is going well except some of the cards that are already places seem to move when they are hovered over. There is no code making it do that. I'm not sure when it's happening. I've attached my project and would really appreciate anyone helping me out with this.

As a side note, you'll notice that a few of the dropboxes have a red filler color. I did that because I move the dropboxes off the screen when a piece is dropped on them. I had to do that because weird things happened if I left them there. After dropping a few cards, grab the next card and go back and forth over some of the already placed cards. Some, not all, disappear.  I believe they are following the same motion paths as the dropboxes.

Hey Dean,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your file so that I could take a look.

I'm not seeing any of the items moving as you shared above.

Could you take a look at my published output and let me know if you're experiencing the same issue? If so, what environment and browser are you using to view the content?

If you could take a Peek recording, that'd be helpful too.

Hi Leslie and thank you for getting back to me.

I see the exact issue when viewing your published output as well. First, place your first number in the top box. If you drag the second or third number given and kind of scrub it over the first one, it disappears. I figured out it was the text in the blocks that are being dragged. I've changed the orientation of it and it seems to be working better. Strange glitch though.

Hi Dean,

Now I'm seeing it! Check out this Peek of my testing. As strange and unique as this glitch is, you're not the first person who has run into it. One other community member experienced the same problem, and we've found that it's related to the motion paths on the slide.

As soon as we know more about this bug and we get closer to a fix, we'll let you know. Thanks for reaching out to us!

Hello Dean,

I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 23 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.

Here's the one you will be particularly interested in:

Fixed: In drag-and-drop interactions, drag items didn't always move with your mouse or stay where you dropped them.

Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
