Recently I was converting an old SL1 file to the SL3 format. I didn't run into many issues and it converted just fine, except for one odd bug. Some of my buttons no longer work for navigation, moving slides, moving layers, etc.
I've added an attachment showing the simple triggering of a button. This button DOES NOT work outside of changing the "Professionalism" variable. Very odd. But all of my buttons, except the first button, for each choice, just simply won't work!
Here is another example. Mind you, the navigation is what doesn't work. It will still adjust the variables. It just will NOT move to another slide or layer.
On the first trigger, it will add to professionalism if help is 1 or less, and will add 1 to help no matter what, but if help is 1 when the user clicks, it will change help to 2, and won't open the layer. The layer only opens if help is exactly 1.
I see, but why doesn't it go to the correct layer, when Help is 1 and it needs to go to the first layer when Help is = to 1 and 2nd layer when help is = to 2.
It has occurred to me to ask if you have opened the trigger? When copying slides and layers, I have seen it copy a trigger that has blanks that are visible when you open them in the wizard, but when they are in the trigger pane, they look normal.
I can share the story file, but I am still unsure as to why the navigation will not work. I've tried a lot of different things with the tirggers and no go. It seems only the first button out of 3 wants to work.
Thanks for sharing your updated file. I know you mentioned you had to add the variable to adjust to get this to work, so I'm curious if you have the original/backup SL1 file that I could take a peek at as well?
I misunderstood Justin. I thought you had to add the variable adjustment to the newer course is why I was looking for comparison, but you were saying it's only doing the adjustment. I'm taking another look.
Well, you stumped me Justin. I even tried to isolate the slide and cannot see what is preventing it from working correctly. I've opened up a support case for you to work directly with a support engineer. You should be getting an e-mail confirmation soon and then hearing from someone.

We'd have to see the .story file to find an answer to that. Otherwise, there are just too many possibilities.
Is there a staff member that can assist me? Or review my file to see what error is occuring?

Yes I have the original Storyline 1 file, but I didn't add any variables between S1 and S3 versions.

Yeah, very odd right? The navigation should work just fine, but it simply wont.
