If you select each, you should see the Audio Tools/Options menu on your ribbon. Go there, and select the Audio Editor. At the bottom you will see the audio duration for the track.
That may be because they are associated with triggers. In that case, although you see them in the timeline, they aren't exactly part of it. If any of them were added directly to the timeline, to play when the slide started, then you would not be able to push the end of the timeline shorter than the audio length.

I can slide the right-side of the timeline all the way to 0 seconds. These mp3s have no length!

A telltale is if the audio is directly in the timeline, you'll see its waveform as opposed to its filename.
