Offline use on iPads - cannot access content error message

May 30, 2014

Hello,

I read all the posts I could find about the issue and followed the steps (I think!) but cannot make it work.

I create a project on storyline, have a few questions and a summary slide at the end that gives the score and also allow users to review their answers.

I uploaded the published file on articulate online and from that I can make it work on the articulate app player on the iPad.

I also tried to published it different ways (web, CD, LMS) tickign or not the mobile option.

I put the files on googledrive (publicly shared) and also in dropbox(public) but then I cannot make it open in the app.

I access the file on the google drive, click on the file ( I tired story.html, ioslaunch.html, well pretty much every file in every published folder I created), and even if the app opens, after a few second I have an error message "Cannot Access Content: Articulate Mobile Player cannot access this content"

Any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Hi Nicolas and welcome to Heroes!

First you mentioned hosting it at Articulate Online, and I wanted to share a reminder that offline viewing on the ipad isn't available for Articulate Online content.

To access the course on the mobile player, you'll need to choose to publish for Web, LMS or Articulate online (CD is for local playback only). You would also always need to include the check mark for "Use Articulate Mobile Player for iPad" and once you've placed the course within the web server or LMS you'll point to the story.html link and Storyline fill figure out which version to show based on how the user accesses it.

Where will you eventually be hosting your content? That's where you'll want to test it from to ensure everything behaves as expected.
