Offset radio buttons in review

Apr 30, 2019

Hello everyone!

I ran into a problem this morning in Storyline360 and I was wondering if any of you ran into it as well.

For my client, I am building a slide with a ‘visual’ question.

It consists of a schematic in which I have removed the labels at certain icons.

Now, in order to quiz students, I have made use of the multiple-choice option, and tweaked it.

The tweaking consists of expanding the bounding box (containing the multiple-choice radio button boxes) so that it covers the entire schematic. Now, I decreased the width of the rectangular boxes with the radio-buttons (I do not need to add text to the right side of the radio buttons) so that only the radio-button is visible. These boxes with radio-buttons are then placed on top of certain icons on the schematic, within the multiple-choice bounding box .

Here comes my problem: when I preview the page/slide, the position of some boxes is offset.

This is annoying to say the least, for it should not happen.

If I try to place small animated gif images underneath the radio-button boxes, these are offset as well in preview.

Does someone have an explanation for this, or even better, a solution?
My next step would be to report this bug but perhaps there is a workaround.

Regards,

Marcel

Hi, Marcel!

It sounds like you need standalone radio buttons to place near the icons, is that right?

If so, try this:

  • Remove the multiple choice question from the slide. You may need to create a new slide to do this.
  • Insert radio buttons near each icon.
  • Convert the slide to a Freeform Pick One slide.
  • Add each radio button as an answer choice in Form View.

If you need extra help with this, feel free to share your file here! Since this is a public forum, you can import the slide into a new file and delete any proprietary information before attaching it.
