I recently inherited a project that needs to be updated. The original user saved it to the storyline on their computer not our share drive. How can I transfer the product so I may do my updates on my storyline2?
Hi Josephine! Do you have access to the Storyline 1 file? If so, simply open it on your computer using Storyline 2. When you open an existing project in Storyline 2, you'll be asked to upgrade it.
Since upgraded projects aren't backward compatible, Storyline will automatically create a backup copy of the original project file in the same folder in case you ever need to go back to Storyline 1.
Thanks for that update, Josephine. You'll need access to the file in order to open it on your computer using Storyline 2. Is that user able to save it to a flash drive or a network drive to deliver the file to you?
All you need is to have access to the .story file, whether that is by flash drive, dropbox, mail attachment, copying it to a shared drive, or whatever.

It is saved to another users file and laptop.

Once you have the file in your possession, be sure you save it somewhere on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive).
