Old training files from Flash based e learning

Jan 26, 2021

Hi,

I am writing because I have a task to convert old e learning training based in flash to new one in storyline. As you know the flash based training not working anymore.

I have only SCROM file of this training. And all media in there is SWF format.

Do you know how can I extra all this media files and open them ?  Or maybe where can I view the SCROM file ? That will help a lot as well.

Thank you

If on Windows, you should be able to right-click the SCORM file (.zip) and select open with Windows Explorer.  From there you should be able to copy the files out of the directory (as it is viewing the compressed file still) to a new folder.

Once you have your files, you should be able to see any pngs/jpgs/bmps etc.  If the media is in the .swfs, you will need to use a second party viewer (Google for Flash viewer) to see those .swfs.  Not a great solution, but you could screen cap those images once you run the .swfs.  You cannot get to the original media files unless you have the Flash source (.fla) that more than likely contains them, unless they were referenced externally from Flash.
