On click - show?

Hello everyone,
I am somewhat new to Storyline and struggling to do a simple click to show interaction. Here's what I'm after :)
- On click show the text with that button.
- There are 4 other buttons that do the same thing. Click - show. But I want it to retain the other clicks. If I put it as layers - it's rebuilding each time and doesn't show the other content that's already been selected.
This is much easier in Lectora - on click - show. I'm sure it's simple but it's got me scratching my head. Any tips on how to do it in Storyline?

Hi, you can do this with layers by going to the slide properties for each layer and deselecting the option to "Hide other slide layers".
The default settings for layers is to hide the layer when the next one opens so disabling the setting for each layer you create will solve the problem you are having.
Hi Melissa,
Nancy's on point here! To view layers together, click on a slide layer, then the ⚙️on the bottom-right to display the Slide layer properties. Uncheck the option to Hide other slide layers.
Once you do this for each slide layer, you should be good to go!
An alternative to layers is to have an item who's state is hidden and change the state to normal on the click. It all depends on how your layout works.
Awesome, thanks guys! That was way easier than I was making it lol.
True, but for something this basic I think layers are the way to go. It is less work to set up.
You could also play around with different states. For example, if you put the text in a visited state, when a person clicks on the button, it goes to visited state and stays there.
If you use a selected state, the button toggles the text on and off. If you add a button set, only one button can be toggled at a time.
