Onboarding Board Game for New Hires - Where to Start?

May 22, 2017

Hi, all! I'm relatively new to the E-learning Heroes community, but it has been so helpful in teaching me to navigate through Articulate.

One of my main tasks right now is to come up with sort of an onboarding game for new hires that allows them to go through the story, learn about the company and its policies, and get acquainted with the job expectations. It was suggested to me that I find a way to track points that they can redeem at the end for fun tokens or little prizes.

I've been playing with my Storyline for awhile trying different ideas, but nothing seems quite right. I'm not very advanced as far as what I can do with the program yet, but I've been able to create a basic board game where the character goes from square to square and different layers pop up to show facts about the company, etc, but I was hoping to get a little more dynamic and creative. The issue is, I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have recommendations for how to begin drafting the outline for something a little less basic?

Thank you in advance!

Hey Katie--welcome to Heroes! You've come to the right place. 🙂

I did a quick ArticuSearch for all things onboarding-related, and I found a few threads and freebies I think you'll be interested in:

You may also want to look at the Building Better Courses side of the forums to see what other ideas have been shared there. Best of luck!
